July in Hayward

This is the longest we have been parked at any one place.  One of the ways we can tell is the birds nest that was built on our hitch!  Also, a vine started growing up our water hose!

The weather has been very pleasant here.  Only a few hot and humid days, and mostly in the 70’s and 80’s.  It has rained in spurts, but nothing like the winter weather we found in East Texas.

We have each been working about 30+ hours each week.  We work Thurs – Sunday with Tues & Wed being our regular days off.

Kathie is working in the office/store.  She registers guests that arrive and make reservations for those that call.  She stocks the shelves in the store, mops the floor, empty trash cans and clean the snack food area when closing the office.

Terry is working in maintenance. He cleans campsites and fire pits after campers leave, does yard work and other general maintenance task.  On Friday and Saturday night he delivers firewood to the campsites that have ordered it.  He drives/walks around the whole campground picking up pieces of trash and locks up the pool, game room and jumping pillow at closing time.

Terry has found about a 20 mile route to ride his bike on the beautiful back roads of Northern Wisconsin.  He can take off right from our campsite and out the park, starting on the road next to the campground.

Kathie is going to Curves 4-5 times a week and have gotten to know many of the locals there.  It is fun to ask them about local details and history.  She is also volunteering at the local Pregnancy Resource Center a few hours a week.  It is located in the same building as Curves.  She is using her admin assistant skills to help them in their office.
