Visit to Minnesota

On our way to Hayward, Wisconsin we stopped in Minnesota for a week.  We stayed in the Twin Cities area.  Kathie’s sister lives in the area, so it was nice to connect with her after many years. She came out to visit our motor home then showed us a yummy local restaurant and a local grocery store favorite.

One day we checked out the Mall of America. Dora says "HI" to everyone!

We were able to take a tour of the Summit Brewing Company in St. Paul.  It is the third largest mico-brewery in Minnesota.

We spent the better part of one day on maintenance/repair to the awning over one of our slide-outs.  Kathie is very thankful to her mother for teaching her how to sew!  We saved lots of money this week. Yes, we still have home maintenance even in a motorhome!

We also ate lunch at a Polish Restaurant called Kramarczuk's. This has been featured on Food Network, Diners, Drive ins and Dives. Kathie’s sister met us there then she drove us around downtown Minneapolis after lunch.  We even drove over the NEW I-35W Bridge over the Mississippi River.  That is the one that collapsed about 5 years ago.

St. Paul Cathedral in St. Paul, MN

Kathie and Mary Tyler Moore statue!

It was nice to be in a bigger city where more stores are more readily available.  We shopped at CUB Foods for the first time in years.  I sure miss the one that was in Colorado Springs. So sad that they left Colorado.

We found this sign in Minnesota on a bridge over I-94. I have never seen a sign like this, have you? It says "No Wake" under a picture of a snow plow.

Kathie was able to go to CURVES 6 days in a row!  There was a location less than 5 miles from the campground.  It is so nice to have a Curves “family” near most of the locations we have traveled to this year.

Found another phone booth today! This one has a phone with a dial tone and a phone book from 2005!!! This one is in the campground we are at in Minnesota.
