April in East Texas

We are enjoying our last couple of weeks in Livingston TX.  We are trying to see as many sites as possible before we head to Wisconsin for the summer.

We already have gone to Big Thicket National Preserve.  http://www.nps.gov/bith/index.htm

Also attended the Woodville Dogwood Festival where we watched the parade.  Small town parades are so much fun!  Lots of candy from every entry!  Too bad the dogwood trees were not well attended!  I guess the weather this year did not help them be ready for the festival!

We found one dogwood tree in bloom!

Also visited the Heritage Village in Woodville.  What a very nice museum/village.

Then ate chicken dinner lunch at the Pickett House.

After church Easter morning we had lunch with our friends at the CARE Center.  They provided the ham and we all brought a covered dish.

We also drove back to Nacogdoches Texas to check out the beautiful Azalea flowers.  This time we called ahead to make sure they were in bloom.
