The last week in Denver

This week we got a chance to catch up on cleaning in the RV.  After being on the road for many weeks and the last 6 with the grandkids, the RV was overdue for a good cleaning.  That took a couple of days!

Terry has been able to ride his bike around Buckley Air Force Base where we are camped. Kathie has been able to go to Curves every day this week.  There is one only a few miles from the campground.

The Oscar Meyer Wiener Mobile was at the base Commissary one day this week so guess what we had for lunch that day?  Free hotdogs!  Living on a tight budget sure has made us creative.  It sure is nice to have the Commissary and BX so convenient!

We were able to have Sarah over for dinner more than once.  We have more time to plan menus and have been using our new crock pot!  It sure makes yummy meals!  Does anyone have any crock pot recipes you want to share with us?

Kathie was able to catch up with a few friends in the Denver area.  Thanks Mary for your hospitality to see the beautiful flowers in your yard.  Sister Ginny was in town, so we visited for a couple of hours. Have not done that in ages!  Got to visit Tacy and her husband one more time before they move out of state in a couple of weeks.

We have a very good internet connection here so we were able to SKYPE with Stephanie & Daniel to catch up with them.

The weather was wet for most of the week, but then turned to dry and hot!  We were able to eat outside on the shaded picnic table more than once and watch the bunny rabbits playing in the grassy fields all around and in the campground.

We are headed to Trinidad State Park for a long weekend.  Some friends from our church invited us to join them there.  Then we will be back in Colorado Springs till August 26.
