RV Boot Camp in Livingston Texas

On our way to Livingston we stopped in Shreveport Louisiana.  Kathie’s cousin Linda & her husband Bob live near there and had us over for dinner.  Always nice to catch up with family!

We have been in our ‘domicile’ location of Livingston Texas for a couple of weeks.
We signed up for a Library Card while we were here.  Now we can get more free e-books for our Nook and Kindle.  On November 4, we were able to VOTE in our new precinct!  First time ever that Kathie voted in Texas!  What a privilege we have!

We took a tour of the Escapees Care Center.  After the tour we filled out a volunteer application and were accepted to volunteer the month of January 2015.  We are so much looking forward to being part of that group!  Here is the link if you want to find out more details.   http://escapeescare.org/

Then we were able to attend the Escapees RV Boot Camp!  It was 8 sessions and a couple of electives.  It was nice to get a confirmation of what we have been doing right for the last 8 months!  We learned the WHY it is important to do the things we are doing right.  And we learned a few more things that we need to be doing.   Chuck and Luann, friends from Colorado Springs, flew in to attend with us.  It was nice to see familiar faces and share their enthusiasm for RVing!  Here is the link:  http://www.escapees.com/bootcamp/

We also got our rig weighed while we were here. This is a different system than the scales you see the truckers use.  This measured each of our tires to find out the load on each tire.  We were given much good information based on our rig type and tire type.   Yeah, we came in under weight which is always a worry until you see the numbers!  Here is the link:  http://www.escapees.com/SmartWeigh/Default.aspx
