Fun in Branson MO

This is our second trip ever to Branson.  We were able to visit here in 2004 With Sarah and Stephanie.  This time we are seeing different shows.  We are staying in a different part of town this time so get to see more of the town that we missed last time.   Last time they were just starting to build “Branson Landing” on Lake Taneycomo so it is fun to see how it turned out.
Water & light show at Branson Landing

We have been able to attend shows: Jonah, Presleys, Bernie & Red and a few IMAX movies.  It has been fun to eat at a few different restaurants, too.
Beautiful view from the overlook on College of the Ozarks.

We also spent a day on the campus of College of the Ozarks.  Wow, what a wonderful college!  If you have not heard about it, please consider checking out their website. www.cofo.edu.

College of the Ozarks is:  Christian values and character, hard work, and financial responsibility comprise the fundamental building blocks of the "Hard Work U" experience. At a time when there is much talk about what is wrong with the nation, College of the Ozarks exemplifies what is right with America.

C of O is committed to its founding mission of providing a quality, Christian education to those who are found worthy, but who are without sufficient means to obtain such training.  Instead of paying tuition, all full-time students work campus jobs to defray the cost of education.  Upon complete participation in the Work Education Program, the College guarantees to meet the entire cost of education for students, allowing them the opportunity to graduate debt-free. The College openly discourages debt by not participating in any federal, state, or private loan programs and leads by example through having no institutional debt of any kind.   "Hard Work U" earns numerous accolades yearly.

At the College we spent most of the day visiting the Restaurant/gift shop, Fruitcake and Jelly Kitchen, the Ralph Foster Museum, Williams Memorial Chapel, Edwards Mill where students mill grain, the C of O Greenhouses where we saw a huge orchid collection, Point Lookout view of the Ozarks, Star Schoolhouse, and the Gaetz Tractor Museum.  The students work in these locations and more to defray the cost of education.

One of the MANY MANY beautiful orchids in the collection.

This is the original car used in the Beverly Hillbillies TV show!
Terry’s brother and sister-in-law visited Branson while we were here.  It was fun to have them show us around Branson while they were here for a long weekend. Terry & Gary had a BLAST fishing one afternoon.  They caught so many fish they lost count!

Terry was able to ride his bike on Table Rock Dam and Kathie found a Curves in town.

Next we are headed to Heber Springs, Arkansas for a week.  We will be attending the 2014 Workamper Rendezvous. www.workampers.com.  Going to learn the best ways to earn some extra money along the way!
