If
you ever get a chance to visit Carlsbad Caverns, please you HAVE to go! Wow and Awesome are two words that come to
mind! It looks just like the pictures,
but when you are there and see it in person it is totally AWESOME. Being in the middle of a HUGE cave and
looking all around to see the wonders of God’s creation is breathtaking. More than once during our 90 minute hike, I
came around the corner and gasped in delight.
We
saw a drip fall to the ground, up close! Stood and watched it for a couple of
minutes to make sure we watched it while using our flashlight. The flash light
also helped us see many structures up close and personal and many details. Now I know why people who have been there
told me to make sure I visit if I ever got the chance. It is a great place to go on a hot day. Temp
down there is in the 50's. but during 1.25 mile hike I shed my coat! I know these pictures don't do it justice, but I wanted to include the one with the drop of water just before it fell.
We
were in Carlsbad NM to take RV driving lessons from RVDrivingSchool.com. One of their instructors is based out of
Carlsbad so he met us at our campsite on Friday and Saturday. We talked about RV’s and driving one, walked
around our motorhome inspecting it and asked him questions. Terry and I both
spent time driving our coach around town, on the highway and in a parking lot.
We both got to BACK IN our 40 foot motorhome into our assigned space at the
campground! The instructor said we did a
great job. After being in the driver seat, I have a whole
different perspective of what the person in the passenger seat needs to do to
help the driver. We are both more confident now. The next step is to go back to Texas to take
a written and driving test to get our special Texas driver’s license.
